SRAM & MRAM groups foray into the EV segment began almost 3 years back with its inking an historic deal with CSEPEL Nyrt Hungary for manufacturing Electric Buses. CSEPEL, Hungary one of the leading manufacturers of EV buses in Europe, have been major suppliers of Electric buses to various countries across Europe and South America. SRAM & MRAM Group has embarked on manufacturing of all Electric Vehicles under its own brand and is all set to launch EV two wheelers and 4 wheelers at the earliest.

As per a report by IESA even on a worst case scenario, the EV market is expected to grow at CAGR of 44 per cent between 2020-2027 and is expected to hit 6.34-million-unit annual sales by 2027. Along with this demand for EV vehicles the support infrastructure could see multi fold rise. EV batteries, the public charging infrastructure and component manufacturers for EV’s will be seeing substantial demand surge. Similarly, the annual battery demand is forecasted to grow at 32 per cent to hit 50GWh by 2027, of this, 40 plus GWh will be on lithium-ion batteries.
